On Wednesday, Apple iOS 18.2 was released, giving iPhone users access to new Apple Intelligence features. Some of the much-anticipated AI-powered features of the iPhone manufacturer that were absent from earlier software upgrades are now available in the most recent mobile operating system.
The phone’s mail, photo, and camera apps have all been improved.
How to download iOS 18.2
The general public who own iPhones that can run iOS 18 can now use the new operating system. However, among those with older iPhone models, the iOS 18.2 update’s Apple Intelligence capabilities are only available to owners of the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16.
Go to Settings on your iPhone, then General, and finally Software Update to download iOS 18.2, the most recent version of Apple’s mobile software. Only beta versions of the software are accessible.
What is new?
Image Playground, Genmoji, and other Apple Intelligence capabilities are included in the latest version.
Using images from their camera roll, users can create “fun, whimsical images in many styles” with Image Playground, according to Apple. Users can make their own emoticons with Genmoji. Furthermore, doodles or handwritten notes can be converted into typed memos using a new tool called Image Wand.
Another new feature of iOS 18.2 is ChatGPT support, which allows users to access ChatGPT directly through Writing Tools and Siri.
Other new features in the update are also powered by Apple Intelligence. For instance, Apple Visual Intelligence now allows users to aim their cameras toward structures, objects, and even companies, and it will provide information about what the camera detects.
Users’ messages are categorized in the updated Mail app to make them easier to read.
When announcing the new features, Apple stated that there was still more to come. According to the IT giant, AI-powered services that will be made available in the upcoming months will be even more suited to consumer preferences.
