SZA Surprises Fans by Bringing Out Lizzo during one of the most memorable moments of the Grand National Tour, which she is currently co-headlining with Kendrick Lamar. The surprise took place during a high-energy performance in Paris, where the two stars shared the stage to perform their recent collaboration, “IRL.”
Lizzo, clearly thrilled by the moment, took to Instagram afterward to express her gratitude. “BAD BITCH… in REAL LIFEEEE @sza !!!!! Thanks for letting me throw it byke on ur stage #stadiumstatus,” she wrote, hyping fans even more online.
This marks the second time SZA Surprises Fans by Bringing Out Lizzo during the tour. The first appearance came earlier this year in Los Angeles when Lizzo shocked the crowd by performing a remix of her hit song “Special” during SZA’s set. Both moments have been standout highlights of an already historic tour.
In a heartfelt interview with Billboard, Lizzo opened up about her deep connection with SZA, praising her for being one of the few people who truly understands both her personal and professional struggles.
“She’s one of the only people I can text at 3 in the morning when I’m crashing out,” Lizzo shared. “She gets me. She understands this world we’re in, and that kind of friendship is rare.”
Meanwhile, the Grand National Tour itself has been making history. Co-headlined by SZA and Kendrick Lamar, the tour is officially the highest-grossing co-headlining tour of all time. As of the end of the North American leg, it had already earned a staggering $256 million in revenue.
With an average of 48,000 fans attending each show, the duo has performed to more than 1.1 million people, bringing in an average of $11.1 million per show. Now, as they continue to pack stadiums across Europe, those numbers are only climbing.
Following the European leg, the tour will head to South America before wrapping up with two grand finale shows in Australia this December.
From unexpected guest appearances to record-breaking numbers, SZA Surprises Fans by Bringing Out Lizzo is just one of the many unforgettable highlights of this once-in-a-generation tour.
