Working with Dr. Dre has been likened by Xzibit like being a member of The Avengers.

The two have been working together for almost 25 years, and they recently got back together for X’s new album Kingmaker, which features Dre on the song “Leave Me Alone.”

In an interview with Billboard, X talked candidly about working with the renowned producer.

“When we did ‘Bitch Please’ together,” he remarked. Being a fan initially and then essentially being recruited into The Avengers was insane. That sensation will always be with me because it helps me keep things in perspective. Because you rely on Dre’s experience, the guidance he provides in the studio only improves the song. even when it means stepping outside of your comfort zone.

“Leave Me Alone” was a last-minute addition to the Pimp My Ride host’s first album in more than ten years.

He went on: “[‘Leave Me Alone’] entered after we were scheduled to leave on March 28. I thought, “Oh sh*t!” It was insane. The song was really co-produced by Dre and Swizz Beatz, and I don’t believe that’s ever happened before to have both of them on the same song. It was quite thrilling. It means so much to me to have Dre on the album after all this time. He is both my brother and my coach.

Ice Cube, Redman, and Busta Rhymes are among the Hip Hop icons who appear on Kingmaker’s tracklist, in addition to Dr. Dre.

Jason Martin, B-Real, Ty Dolla $ign, and Royce Da 5’9″ are among the other artists on the album.

The album has already experienced several delays; Xzibit stated on social media that he made some “last minute additions” that caused the release date to be pushed back.

Additionally, he told NME: “I’ve been working on music intermittently for the past ten to twelve years, but I didn’t feel that it was what I needed to release.” It didn’t seem different enough to me. It was simple to determine that [it was time to release the music] because I was able to hear something in myself that I had never heard before.
