Post Malone’s Big Ass Stadium Tour stopped at Detroit’s Ford Field on Sunday night, and Jelly Roll was the big surprise.
After honoring Bob Seger, a hometown hero in Motor City, with a bit of his “Old Time Rock and Roll” during his direct support set to Post Malone, Jelly Roll did the same for Eminem by starting the rapper’s Academy Award-winning “Lose Yourself.” When Slim Shady joined in for the second verse and played the rest of the song, the football stadium went crazy.
A military-style hooded jacket and baseball cap were worn by Eminem and Jelly Roll as they loped down a ramp that went to the middle of the stadium floor and posed for the camera and each other.
“What’s up, Detroit?! “Make some noise for Jelly Roll!” At the end of the song, Eminem yelled to the more than 46,000 people in the crowd. “I haven’t seen you in a long time. I love all of you. Peace!” “If you can’t tell, that was a childhood dream come f–king true, Detroit,” Jelly Roll said as he walked out the door. It’s the best show I’ve ever seen in my whole life.
It was Eminem’s music that “helped me through the darkest moments of my life,” and he praised Paul Rosenberg, Eminem’s manager, as someone who “believed in me” early in the Tennessee star’s career.

Since December 12, when he was the main act at the Soundstorm Festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Eminem hadn’t been on stage since. He also sang “Lose Yourself” and “Stan” with Ed Sheeran at Ford Field with Ed Sheeran as a guest on July 15, 2023. The crowd was just as enthusiastic.
Malone’s latest record, F-1 Trillion, has a song called “Losers.” On Sunday, Jelly Roll joined him for a performance of that song. Madlib also brought out Houston artist BigXthaPlug to perform his hit song “Texas” from 2022.
The eighth stop on the Big Ass Stadium Tour was on Sunday. The next show is on Tuesday in Minneapolis, and the tour ends on September 14 in Lisbon, Portugal. Eminem joins Jelly Roll as a special guest on stage at their concert in Detroit.
