The babies born to Jesy Nelson and Zion Foster are here. On May 15, at 31 weeks, the healthy, identical twin girls were born early to the happy parents.
Nelson had problems during her pregnancy because she was carrying monochorionic/diamniotic twins, which are babies who share a placenta but have different amniotic sacs. They were born early because of these problems.
Nelson wrote in an Instagram post on May 18: “Our beautiful baby girls chose to come at 31 weeks plus 5 days.” “Everything happened so fast, but we’re so thankful they’re here with us, healthy and ready to fight!” “We love each other more than ever.”
The singer wrote, “Congratulations on your new babies, Ocean Jade Nelson-Foster and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster. Please meet them.” She posted cute pictures of herself and her partner, Foster, cuddling their babies with love. Foster shared Nelson’s post in his Instagram Story and said, “My princesses are here.”
In January, the former member of Little Mix announced she was pregnant in an Instagram post that seemed to hint at the couple’s plans for twins. She said at the time, “She’s been eating for three hours now.”
Early in March, she told them that they had learned that Ocean and Story were monochorionic/diamniotic twins, which was frightening for their health. In an emotional March Instagram video, Nelson said, “Usually, most twins will feed off of two placentas. But when you have mono/di twins, that means your twins live off of one placenta, which can lead to a lot of problems.” “It’s truly awful to think that both babies could die because one might take all the nutrients and the other might.” I am in the pre-stage of TTTS right now, which stands for twin-to-twin transfer. I’m being closely watched, and I have to get checked twice a week. Johns Hopkins Medicine says that twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, or TTTS, is a rare condition that can happen during pregnancy. It affects identical twins or multiples when the placenta’s network of blood vessels isn’t balanced. One twin could give more blood than it gets, which could lead to malnutrition and organ failure; on the other hand, the other twin could get too much blood, which could make their heart work too hard or cause other heart problems.
A few days later, Nelson posted an update saying that doctors had told her she needed to have a procedure that would “give our babies the best chance of surviving.”
Before she gave birth on May 15, her last Instagram video update was at the end of March, when she said from the hospital that the surgery went well and the TTTS had “cleared up.” She said she had to stay in the hospital because her cervix was very short and her water could break at any time because she was “still very, very early.”
She also showed off pictures from a baby shoot in early May that were all black and white.
Nelson and Foster were first linked in January 2022. They put out a song together called “Mine” in August 2024.
