n the August rankings, India was placed 68th in the world and 12th in Asia. The Blue Tigresses worsened their position in the year-end rankings, having added only 0.02 points to their tally.

The side played 10 matches in 2024 and won just three of them, losing four, and drawing the rest. In February, the team reached the final of the Turkish Women’s Cup, but fell to a lower-ranked Kosovo.

India’s year included defeats to Uzbekistan and Myanmar and and exit in the SAFF Women’s Championship semifinals when it lost to Nepal on penalties.

Japan continued to be the highest-ranked side in Asia while the USA national team too maintained its dominance at the top of the FIFA rankings.

While the biggest climber in this round of rankings was Estonia, which moved up by eight positions, Laos suffered the biggest drop, falling down 16 places.
