Kendrick Lamar usually keeps a low profile, but he’s now addressing the chatter about a comment he supposedly made that he’s “not like us.” The Grammy-winning rapper cleared the air in a recent interview, explaining that his words were taken out of context.

Kendrick acknowledged that some people might think he’s distant or “different” because of how he carries himself. But he insists he’s still very much in tune with the struggles and experiences of everyday people, despite his fame and success. “I’m just a guy from Compton,” Kendrick said, emphasizing that his music has always been a reflection of real-life situations.

He’s known for tackling tough subjects in his music, so it’s no surprise that fans were eager to get his take on this latest rumor. For now, Kendrick seems focused on staying true to himself, letting his work speak for itself.
